"ATE" Fine Art Print
"ATE" is a piece that is open to interpretation. However, when creating "ATE" I saw it as this: box braids are such a vital part of Black culture, a piece of our culture that is constantly getting picked apart and widely consumed by others. In this work, the image of someone “eating” box braids becomes symbolic of that act of consumption. Depending on how you look at it, it might speak to appreciation, objectification, or appropriation (it really just depends on how the shoe fits.)
Each print is produced using the Giclée printing method, a museum-grade process that uses archival pigment inks. Printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, museum-quality fine art paper, with a soft, velvety matte surface that enhances color depth and texture. This heavy-duty, vegan-certified paper has a slightly more textured finish than photo rag and a warm white tone ideal for reproducing paintings. Each print is produced using high-resolution image capture to preserve the detail and richness of the original work.
